During our initial conversation, whether on the phone or at our office, we’ll discuss the scope of your project, time lines, and budget, design process, our fees, and any questions or concerns you may have. Here is an idea of how we work.
Once we have agreed to work together, we will meet with you at your home to assess your current interior and discuss what changes and additions you are considering. We talk with you and your family about the activities and mood you want your home to have, so that we can create the environment that best suits your lifestyle. We’ll discuss the scope of the project; style, colour, design preference; budget and timelines. We will ask you to review and sign a Letter of Agreement. A retainer is required to begin work.
We create a custom design plan for your home. Based on a combination of what we have learned from you and our own creativity, we will create a design concept. We’ll put together a presentation board with, all the necessary elements, including, upholstery, case goods, lighting, mirrors, fabrics, drapery, paint colours, wall coverings, rugs, flooring, tile etc.
This presentation will take place at your home depending upon the specific project. At this point, the design is revised and/or approval into a final design plan. The design plan will include: computer drawings of rooms; spacing planning, furniture placement, lighting plan; elevation drawings if required; millwork drawings if required; colour and design concepts; fabrics, paint colours and wall coverings; photos of all furniture pieces, lamps, rugs etc; prepared quotes. If the design concept and quotes are approved, we would move to Step 5. If changes and revisions are necessary, we would move to Step 4.
We will meet with the Client to review all revisions. New quotes will be prepared as needed. Confirmations are signed along with a 50% deposit on all goods.
Once you approve the design, signed the Confirmation and given us a 50% deposit, we will order all the furnishings, rugs, etc. Painting, construction and other work to be done by a trade is scheduled. We will always make sure that all of your needs are met, from answering your questions, coordinating with contractors, to arranging deliveries. We will order and track all purchases and arrange the final install day.
A room isn’t completed until it’s been accessorized some may call it Estherized and of course, filled with special items that mean something to you. We will install this final layer to create a space that’s personally and completely ‘you’. On the final install day, we will arrange delivery of all the pieces necessary for the completion of the room. We will arrange to have a professional hang all artwork and mirrors and an electrician to install any light fixtures. We will place all the pieces of furniture and accessory pieces.
